"PALS" (Positive Attitude & Life Skills) Program

Description of Services

§ "PALS" Classes (1 per week throughout the year)
§ "PALS" Workshops (held approximately 4 times per year
§ Social Skills Outings (held approximately 4 times per year)
§ Summer Program (2 ½ hours a day, 4 days per week for 6 weeks & 1 hour a day, four days per week for 2 weeks, during the summer)
§ Summer Reading Program (a part of the Summer Program) (1 hour a day, 4 days per week for 8 weeks during the summer)
§ "How Rude" (throughout the year)
§ "Start Something" (throughout the year)
§ "Steps To Freedom" (throughout the year)
§ PALS Creative Arts (throughout the year)
§ P.A.L.s (Peer Assistance Leadership Training) (as needed throughout the year)
§ CSR (Community Service Restitution) (throughout the year)
§ "Sonlight Study Group" (a Bible Study for teens) (throughout the year)

"P.I.C." (People In Crisis) Program

§ "P.I.C." Family Life Support Groups (2 per month throughout the year)
§ "P.I.C." Workshops (held approximately 4 times per year)
§ Court Support Services

1st Offender Program

Goal:
To correct errors in thinking in first time, early onset, or inexperienced juvenile offenders To educate these first time offenders in the extreme difficulty in further involvement in the Texas Juvenile Justice System. A video (see clip below) from the Attorney Generals Office called "CONSEQUENCES" attempts to show youth that there are consequences
about the decisions they make.
